दिल्ली में वायु प्रदूषण नियंत्रण के लिए दिल्ली सरकार द्वारा उठाए गए कदम

Delhi- The national capital territory of India popularly called as NCT .With a population of 11 million it stands second most populated States of India.it has croosed the NCT and have regions over gaziabad,Faridabad, noida and Gurgaon and it is called as NCR - National Capital Region.

The estimated population of NCR is nearly 25 millions.it is one of the metro cities too.It has a great heritage importance as there are many historical monuments within.

There are three world heritage UNESCO sites which include Red fort , qutub minar and Humayun's tomb.other tourist attractions are Akshardham temple,Lotus temple, jama masjid and icskon temple.Tourists from world visit delhi every year and government gets benefitted by the tourism.

With it's political , cultural and heritage importance delhi is also very famous for it's pollution.it has been increasing at an alarming rate and there are no control systems or schemes yet to combat the situation.therefore pollution has became a complete menace for the Delhi public.

THE CAUSE OF POLLUTION

1.The bombarding population - due to the over population of territory the amount of pollution increased. The more the number of people the more is the pollution.it adds upto air pollution, noise pollution, water pollution etc. Thus the most leading pollution factor is the population.

2. The emissions from vehicles - the emission of Carbon dioxide and other pollutant gases by the burning of vehicle fuel add upto the most of the pollution. The carbon dioxide is the major pollutant as we all know.it mixes with the haemoglobin and decreases the oxygen level in the body and can even cause death if reduced much.

3.industrial  pollution - the textile industries and automobile industries discharge many by product chemicals in the rivers. The main river which is polluted is river Narmada.the planktons and aquatic animals in the river gets drastically effected and the oxygen level decreases in the water.multiple number of animals die inside the water and the water becomes unfit for consumption too.

4.Garbage dumps - the humps of garbage unloaded in various places cause air pollution and the smell is contagiously stinky that it can cause even vomiting. The animals who eat the garbage become sick and die on pavements.

5. The agricultural burning - Delhi is surrounded by haryana which is an agricultural state and the farmers after harvesting the crops burn the remaining wastes and this causes forest fires many times and thus creates alot of smoke which is one of the cause of air pollution of Delhi.

6.Lack of public transport facilities - the roads with a lot of vehicals create noise pollution and air pollution at the same time.the roads gets congested due to over population and thus in turn it increases the pollution.the state lacks proper management of the transport system thus there is a complete disorder in the city.

HARMFUL EFFECTS OF DELHI POLLUTION

1.GREENHOUSE EFFECT - the carbondioxide ,carbon monoxide ,lead and sulphur in the air cause the greenhouse effect and thus is a major reason for the ozone depletion.the quality of the air becomes very unfit for breathing in.

2.LUNG DISEASES - The poor quality of air causes various lung problems like asthama and bronchitis. The studies have shown that breathing delhi's air is like smoking 50 cigarettes a day ! Isn't it so dangerous to health.

3.THE NARMADA WATER - the whole of Delhi gets water pumped from the Narmada river.due to the polluted water the population of Delhi drinks very unhealthy water which is very toxic for human consumption.

4.THE NOISE POLLUTION - the lakhs of vehicles create a lot of noise which is harmful for the ear drum also it is creates a havoc in day to day lives of people.

5. LEAD - the lead infused in the air by the emissions of factories is very toxic for humans.it can be deadly if breathed in a certain quantity.

MEASURES TAKEN BY THE DELHI GOVERNMENT

1.ANTI-SMOG SYSTEM - The Delhi government in it's plan to control pollution has installed anti smog guns in the areas where there is more pollution.the odd-even system was also started by the CM Arvind Kejriwal.it is installed in 10 places according to the souces.

2.CROP RESIDUE SOLUTION - The Delhi government has started a scheme in which the residue agricultural waste is sprayed chemicals which turn it into manure so that it is not burned by the farmers which inturn will reduce pollution.

3.TREE PLANTATION - delhi has been reportedly forming a plantation scheme to encounter the menace.

4.FINE SYSTEM - the factories which cause a lot of pollution due to discharging wastes in the river sources and the smoke chimneys to pay fine for the pollution they create.
